Dusan Potkonjak
Is it possible to achieve an authentic human encounter in a psychodrama day?
Dusan Potkonjak is back at LPN after an absence of some months and will lead this one-day classical psychodrama workshop.  The day will start with a warm up of spontaneous communication and encounters in the group.  We will explore and create together the necessary therapeutic conditions for growth: benevolence, confidentiality, constructive behaviour and freedom for everyone to participate on the level in which he or she is most comfortable.  There will be short encounters.
Moreno named authentic mutual experience and mutual empathy: Tele.  In every human encounter there are elements of Tele and elements of Transference.
In this day workshop we will follow our choices here and now in the group, identifying where there are patterns in our relationships.  This will be related to psychodrama and group therapy theoretical constructs.
Later, on the psychodrama stage, the group will explore our encounters and our important relationships in life.  Group members who want to explore their relationships will become protagonists.  We will follow the needs of a protagonist and the needs of the group.
After the action on stage we will sit together and reflect on the meaning of our experience.  We will follow group process and see where it leads us.
Dusan Potkonjak is an MD, psychiatrist.  Besides work in clinical psychiatry he was leading inpatients and outpatients’ psychodrama groups and groups for staff in the NHS in east London for 22 years.
He has been a psychodrama practitioner in the British Psychodrama Association (BPA) since 1991, and is an accredited trainer in the BPA since 1994.  His special interest is to explore group process on the psychodrama stage and integrate Psychodrama (Moreno), Group Analysis, (Foulkes), and Interpersonal Group Psychotherapy (Yalom). Dusan completed 1300 hours of diploma course of London Institute of Group Analysis, overseas training. He is a senior trainer in the Serbian Psychodrama Association and a member of Playback South Theatre Company in London since 2010.  Dusan is also a Founder member of the London Psychodrama Network.
This one-day workshop is open to everyone, and no previous experience of psychodrama is necessary.  CPD certificates will be available for students, psychodramatists and therapists of other modalities.
